Our Co-Founder and VP of Product Development, Sara DeLuca, isn't an easy person to catch up with.
She's a woman on a mission to make the best women's workwear, and to say she doesn't stay in one place long is an understatement. On any given day you'll find her zipping from a meeting with a fabric supplier, to a fit session to dial in the fit on a new pant, to a conversation with tradeswomen about how to make their workwear work better. She's also not the type of person to take “no” for an answer or play by someone else's rules. So when we asked her to share her favorite item from our new fall workwear line for this blog, she reeled off her FIVE favorites and was on to the next item on her list before we knew what hit us. Honestly, we're good with that.

As a hoodie aficionado, I've been chasing the perfect year-round layer forever. Rugged but not too heavy. Relaxed but still streamlined. This one nails it. I'm obsessed with the colors, the fabric, the nylon snaps at the neck, and the hidden pocket tucked inside the kangaroo pouch. Mine's black with the “Tough as the Work” graphic (because that's what I aspire to). But the new lodge green? Already calling my name.

Durham Reversible Quilted Shirt Jac
A quilted shirt jac is a craftsperson's classic, and we've wanted to design one forever. Of course, we had to put our spin on it. The Durhamname nods to whole-cloth quilting technique from northeast England, while the quilt pattern itself is in the shape of a dovetail joint. Flannel on one side, quilted nylon on the other, you can wear it either way. I usually go nylon-side out for that retro vibe, with barn-red flannel peeking out at the collar. But my favorite thing? The weight. Not bulky and just right on its own or layered.

Old School High Rise Pant in Heather Black Graphene
This evolved heather black denim has all the cool of timeless black jeans that fade to grey plus next-level performance. With Graphene woven in, you get durability, thermoregulation, and stretch, all wrapped up in pure comfort. The detail I love most? The contrast stitching. It gives a vintage workwear vibe that only gets better as the denim wears in and ages. I've always been an Old School High Rise Pant fan, but the Heather Black Graphene is my new ride-or-die.

GO TO™ Pant in Atlantic Blue
The GO TO™ Pant was designed to be the most comfortable work pant ever for every day, every body. Mission accomplished. Even though that was the goal, I'm still surprised by how often I reach for them myself. For Fall 2025, we've added Atlantic Blue, a deep, rich shade that feels both classic and fresh. With the light grey stitching, it just sings. Fav pant + fav color = the go-to of all GO TO's.

Lodge Green Old School Trucker Jacket
Rachelle, our Sr. Product Developer, spotted a vintage canvas jacket in her neighborhood thrift store and snapped a pic. That find inspired the newest color of our Old School Trucker Jacket: lodge green. It's the color of pine needles in fall, of sitting by the fire after a long day of trail work. Pair that shade with our classic trucker jacket cut and you've got the GOAT of work jackets: tough enough to toss in the back of your truck, stylish enough for coffee shop cool.

We know you're talking to customers and wear testers on the regular. Is there any specific feedback that influenced the new fall products?
One of the things that makes Dovetail different is that we don't design in a vacuum. The women who wear our gear are builders, makers, growers, welders, rangers, artists and they are our co-designers. Their feedback shapes everything we make.
For Fall 2025, that input came through loud and clear:
"Make it last longer.”
You told us durability is non-negotiable. That drove our exploration into Graphene, a material that strengthens fibers without adding bulk.
“Give me comfort without compromise.”
We refined fits, fabrics, and stretch levels until we hit that sweet spot: rugged enough for work, comfortable enough for everyday wear. The HotSwap™ collection is a great example of warmth without bulk.
“I want choices that reflect me.”
From the deep Atlantic Blue Honed Henley to the Barn Red Durham Reversible Quilted Shirt Jac, we expanded colors and textures so women can bring personal style into their workwear.
“Details matter.”
Hidden pockets, reversible layers, scratch free snaps. These came straight from requests we heard in the field.
